Our Story

Bruce has played rugby every year since 1964, and that passion led him to open The Rugby Shop in 1992. What started as a small operation out of the Darwin Transit Centre grew through three sites on Mitchell Street, before settling into its current home at the old Woolworths Building on Smith Street, Darwin City. More than three decades on, The Rugby Shop is run by Bruce and Margaret, and remains a true Territory-born and bred business

Beyond the big leagues, the Local Stuff range covers Northern Territory rugby culture too, including Mad Cows, Croc & Roll, NT Rugby, Hottest 7's and Masters 10's, gear you won't find at a big-box sports store.

Yes. The Rugby Shop is an independent, Territory-owned business founded by Bruce in Darwin in 1992, and is still run by Bruce and Margaret today.

Is everything sold officially licensed?

Every piece of team gear we sell is the genuine, officially licensed article, so the jersey you buy is the real thing, not a knock-off. We also stock genuine brands like Crocs and our own Northern Territory ranges under Local Stuff. So it's all authentic, and the team merchandise is properly licensed.

Do you ship Australia-wide and overseas?

We post right across Australia from our store in Darwin. Standard delivery is $15, Express is $20, and it's free on all orders over $150. We're focused on Australian orders at the moment, so we're not shipping overseas just yet.

What's included in the Local Stuff range?

The Local Stuff range covers Northern Territory rugby gear, including Mad Cows, Croc & Roll, NT Rugby, Hottest 7's and Masters 10's.

Can I pick up my order in Darwin?

Yes. If you're in Darwin, choose Click and Collect at checkout and pick your order up from our Smith Street store, usually ready within 24 hours. It's free, and there's no waiting on the post. We'll let you know the moment it's ready, so you can swing by whenever suits.

Can I return or exchange my order?

Yes, returns and exchanges are easy. If something isn't right, get in touch and we'll help you sort a return or swap it for the right size or style. Please keep items unworn with the tags still on. If you've received something faulty or not what you ordered, let us know straight away and we'll make it right.
